One of the more memorable nights staring at the stars. I’d headed to Aspen to photograph the stars over the Maroon Bells, which became a beautiful series of compositions in itself. But the second night out I headed back up and over Independence Pass when the forecast called for clear skies.

Grateful to have the parking lot set about with other quiet groups, the short walk to the overlook was absolutely still. Setting up for this set of compositions to create a stack of 30 images, clearing up an extra image noise and bringing intensity to the night, a truly surreal memory.
